OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:   

A LIVE in Gallery Exhibition for two months and a VIRTUAL Exhibition that will be up for one year.
Open to Artists Worldwide

The Award-Winning Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire, announces a Call for Entry to a juried art competition and exhibition featuring Printmaking.  An artistic process based on the principle of transferring images from a plate, block or screen onto another surface, most often paper or fabric. Techniques include monoprints, relief (linoleum or woodcut), collagraph, screen printing, intaglio, lithography, serigraphs and more.  

* Giclée prints and digital prints are not accepted. 

DATES: 
Submissions Due – December 1, 2022
Notifications Made – December 4, 2022
Delivery of Work – Shipped or hand delivered no later than December 23, 2022
Opening – January 9, 2023
Closing - February 28, 2023
Reception - February 11, 6pm-9pm
Blue Ribbon Award  - $100 (Juror’s choice)
People’s Choice Award - 1 month Printmaking Membership at the Art Center 


ELIGIBILITY:
Participation is open to all artists 18+

Application Checklist:
1. All practicing printmakers worldwide are invited to submit 1 – 3 original prints (no digital prints). 
2. Entries are to be the work of the artist, completed in the past 5 years.
3. Works can be in any printmaking medium (or combination of media).
4. All entrants must submit high quality images of each work entered, submitted electronically with a file labeled last name, first name, name of work. JPEG format at 300 dpi, 2 MB maximum size. 
5. All online application materials must be received by December 1, 2022 and announcements will be made on December 4, 2022.
6. The works are required to be delivered, unframed, by December 23, 2022.
7. Works must be in excellent condition on arrival.  Artists are required to package work carefully for transport.  The Art Center of Dover takes no responsibility for works lost or damaged in transit.
8. All submitted works will join the Art Center Permanent Collection at the close of the exhibition. If an artist would instead rather have the work returned, please include the cost of return shipping.

Juried by artist - William Mitchell

Bill Mitchell portrays in his brightly colored serigraph (silkscreen) prints places that for him hold special beauty and meaning. He grew up in Catskill, NY, but has made New Hampshire his home for nearly 40 years. He has two sons and lives in Dover with his wife Mary. 
Bill received his B.A. from the State University College at Oneonta, NY, later studied at the Boston Museum School, and in 2007 completed graduate studies at the University of New Hampshire receiving a Master’s degree in Education. Bill juried into the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in 1991. For the League he serves as a print media juror where he enjoys meeting prospective printmakers and discussing their work. He has made commissioned prints for New Hampshire Public Television, The New Hampshire Sierra Club and the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. His limited-edition holiday greeting cards are included in the James Mullen Holiday Collection within the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum. For many years, Bill taught art at Pittsfield Middle High School. He continues to share his passion for art as a workshop leader and printmaking teacher for children and adults.



ENTRY FEE:
Non-Members: $25 nonrefundable fee per entry entitles the submission of up to three  (one image per artwork).
For Art Center Members: No entry fee. Membership must be valid through the end of the exhibition.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:
Selected artworks should be mailed to the Art Center without any frame but can be matted. The largest dimension must not exceed 40 inches. If possible please sign the print at the bottom with the edition, title, name and date.

SALES:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 The gallery will vigorously promote sales of your work during the live exhibition and on line during the virtual exhibition.  Should you not wish to continue to offer the work after the live exhibition, we will mark the work unavailable but it will remain on our website for publicity.  
For any artwork sales: artist receives 70% of the sale price; The Art Center retains 30%.
